Research

I'm heading the Nanocrystals and Epitaxy group within the Division of Solid State Physics.
My research focuses around the following areas:
- Application of aerosol techniques to create novel nanostructures
- Growth of one-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures (nanowires)
- Improved understanding and control of nanowire growth
- Utilization of nanowire structures for photovoltaic structures.
The research within this group is described in more detail here.

I'm the coordinator of the FP7 EU-project AMON-RA that is intended to result in a new type of solar cell. Here, we work together with SOL Voltaics, a start-up company in Lund. In the years 2008 - 2010, I managed the project E.nanowires, funded by the E.ON International Research Initiative.
The Development of aerosol techniques is done in cooperation within the Consortium of Aerosol Science at Technology at Lund University (CAST).
In the years 2008 - 2010 I was one of the editors of the journal Aerosol Science and Technology; since 2010 I'm one of the associated editors of the Journal of Crystal Growth.

Teaching

Within the Nanometer Structure Consortium (nmC@LU), I'm coordinating the core resource Education.
I'm one of the architects behind the Engineering Nanoscience (Teknisk nanovetenskap) program at Lund University. This five years program is one of the very few complete teaching programs in nanoscience in the world starting at the university entrance level and leading to a Masters degree.

2008-2010, I was the Director of doctoral studies for the departments clustered within Research Board 1 at LTH (Automatic Control, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).

Further, I'm a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Nano Education.
In 2011, I received the Lund University Pedagogic Prize for Distinguished Contributions in Teaching.
