Neuro-Nanoscience is a rapidly expanding field. We are working on four different projects as described below, investigating nerve-cell-nanowire interactions using nanowires as culture substrates as well as a guiding tool for axons. We are developing nanowire-based electrodes for neural recordings. To ensure safe and minimally invasive implantable devices, we investigate the biocompatibility of nanowires in the brain. We also use nanowires as a tool for cellular mechanosensing.
